That time #Gamera showed up in a Captain Underpants book.

An acrylic painting of Gamera fighting his rogues' gallery (from the Showa-era), consisting of Barugon, Gyaos, Viras, Guiron, Jiger, and Zigra. In the background is an erupting volcano.

A fun detail I added to the piece is putting a reflective glint over Gamera's pupil, but not for the other monsters. As they are the villains of the series, I felt doing this gave their eyes a harsh and unkind expression.

The "toys of toys" Godzilla ReAction figs. These are especially out-of-the-norm due to being homages to classic antique Godzilla toys that are extremely rare and expensive, and are simply something truly different compared to what else is currently on the market.

- Shogun Warriors Godzilla. Probably my favorite of the entire ReAction line. I do have the original toy from 1977, and this miniature replica is an excellent representation of it.

- Shogun Warriors/Aurora kit mashup Godzilla. The head, hands, feet, and dorsal plates are glowy material, in reference to the Aurora kit.

- Shogun Warriors Rodan. Much like the Godzilla, an excellent replica of a classic toy, in miniature form. (It was also easier on the wallet than trying to get one of the originals.)

- Aurora kit Godzilla. Unlike the aforementioned SW figure, this one is directly based on the kit's design, display base and all.

- Marusan J-tail Godzilla. This one is significant for being one of the earliest Godzilla toys, one which is rare because of manufacturing difficulty. Vinyl figures are made with centrifugal force, and the J-shape of the tail made it difficult to produce without flaws, so it was changed to have an L-tail (which Super7 also made).

- Marusan tin Godzilla and Baragon. While these figures are injection molded plastic, they do a great job of replicating that antique look. They're also homages to some of the most expensive Godzilla toys ever - last I heard, they can go for up to $35k.

The "oddballs". These are most certainly things a casual fan might not be aware of, or they're different from the usual Godzilla toy (even among Super7's range).

- Medical and Firefighter Jet Jaguar (from Godzilla Island). Talk about an extremely deep cut. These were blind box figs; they're much lighter than other ReAction figs.

- Black MechaGodzilla 1974. I think this is also from Godzilla Island, but Bandai made special edition black MechaGodzillas in the early 2000s, but I never did get one. At least this breaks up the monotony of all the regular MGs in my collection. In fact, I used to have the first MG '74 ReAction fig, but I sold it because it felt redundant; it didn't really do anything that I didn't already have. And being from a blind box set, it certainly made getting it just a touch extra special. (Also, next to the two Jet Jaguars, MG here feels like a cop, lol.)

And speaking of something different:

- Half-Transformed MechaGodzilla '74. When you've already got a bunch of MG '74 figures, seeing one with the Godzilla disguise in the midst of coming off is most certainly anhange.

- Godzilla's skeleton (with Oxygen Destroyer). I mean, how many figures of Godzilla's bones even are there? While it is morbid, in reference to his demise in the original film, it's really cool to see something this unique. The Oxygen Destroyer accessory is also a nice inclusion.

- Godzilla 1957. The figure itself is pretty straight-forward and even rather basic. But the significance of this is which Godzilla it's supposed to be. It's based on a suit made for an American movie called The Volcano Monsters, which would have utilized stock footage of Godzilla Raids Again, but the film never came to be. Probably the deepest cut Super7 (or any Godzilla toy) has made thus far.

These are "standard" figures. Nothing super outrageous, just straight-forward representation of the character, but I still felt they have their own unique qualities that stand out in my collection.

- MechaGodzilla 1975. There are so many figures of the '74 version out there. Don't get me wrong, I love that MG design. Hell, it was my first Godzilla movie. But there is SO MUCH of it. The '75 version seeing more and more representation as of late (especially stateside) is such a welcome change.

- Titanosaurus. There aren't a whole lot of standard figures of Titano, especially this size. They're either chibi, large, expensive, or a combination of all three. Heck, even the Bandai vinyls are quite hefty in price. Granted, Super7's figures are a bit stylized...but it fits the niche I've been wanting for some time. Ironic that a normal figure feels out of the norm, lol.

- Godzilla 2023 (Minus One). It's a newer Godzilla, so naturally, I haven't snagged a lot of figures of it. (It's really hefty, too!)

- Godzilla 1989. Despite being my personal favorite Godzilla, I was going to skip it; like MG '74, there's plenty of figures of it out there, and a good number in my collection. However, after seeing it in person, I couldn't resist. The slightly stylized/cartoonish style sets it apart from the others in the collection.

- Megalon (blind box). While it's not anything out of the norm like the black MechaGodzilla, The colors on this look much better than the regular release in my opinion. I don't have a whole lot of Megalon, and this is a great scale to have a figure of him in.

- Mothra '64. The figure itself is pretty basic, but what really set this one out is that it came with the egg. Of course that's not the only reason I got it, but it's a nice accessory to have.

Shoulder structures. It commands attention; it makes villains look imposing, and heroes look strong and respectable. And it just looks cool.

Granted, it's older art (2010), but you can see that influence on my OC there in the third pic.

Digital art of Little Godzilla, despite their inherently cute appearance, trying to fiercely confront SpaceGodzilla, who looks very imposing. To accentuate SpaceGodzilla's villainous presence, crystal spikes jut up from the foreground, and the sky is a menacing red and purple.

3D printed figures of Ultra Magnus and Optimus Prime

My OC, Fierodon (fee-arrow-don). He's in a battle-ready pose, forming a fireball in his hand and preparing to throw it. His skin is a fiery red, while his armor plates and spikes are yellow/orange. He has large flame-shaped blade structures on his shoulders, as well as flame-shaped spikes on his tail. He also sports a large crest of horns on his head.

I was going for something that evokes an appearance of Godzilla, but subverts some of Godzilla's design tropes. Fierodon is red and orange instead of the green western depictions of Godzilla usually are; he has five fingers instead of four; aside from the "shoulder blades", he doesn't have any dorsal spines. Even his powers - instead of firing a blast from his mouth, he treats his energy weapons as melee weapons. He forms fireballs in his hands and throws them (as pictured); not pictured are his Immolation Swords, where intense jets of fire shoot from his arm spikes (inspired by an acetylene cutting torch).

Despite bad brain yesterday, I got me the Bandai Godzilla '91 action figure.

It's surprisingly a fun toy. It's a rehash of the MMS vinyl in terms of size and sculpt (though not as "bootleggy" as the earlier Playmates toys).
