My mom just destroyed me.
We’re watching the HBO Perry Mason and I love that the only thing that I’ve ever seen throw off Matthew Rhys’ American accent is a line where he has to say he’s a quarter Welsh.

Even though it’s winter, the cat’s favourite spot in the house is right in front of a fan. We call her our little Beyoncé because she always wants to feel the wind in her fur
a woman in a black dress is dancing with her hair blowing in the air .

Happy Day 1 of Inkvent to all my fellow fountain pen enthusiasts! I’m up to date 4 because I cheated, but I have so many inked right now that I can wait and align with everyone on Friday.

Red alert, boys. WSJ says it’s time to start dressing like Steve Zissou.

This is the only “Black Friday” before our wedding, and it’s so far out that we can’t buy anything because we don’t have even the basics purchased. It really does kill the urge by realizing waiting and paying full price will be cheaper than guessing now and getting it wrong

My work Christmas party has the dress code of “dress for a party!” And I have zero clue how to interpret that.

I bought a new merino blend toque at Costco yesterday, and I turned down all the ~demure~ neutral colours in favour of a bright pink one for visibility as a pedestrian, and I still almost got hit by a car walking this morning.

People talk about trying not to put on weight at Christmas, when a Christmas tradition my friends and I share is weighing ourselves on the morning and evening of Christmas day to see what percentage of us is Christmas Dinner. (The goal is to become 10% Christmas Dinner, but the current record is 7%)

WPR: seating charts. Stop asking if they are necessary. Yes, it sucks, but don’t outsource that stress to your guests! You are the only thing some of them have in common, help them out. It’s one of the cheapest details that makes the biggest difference.
I’m going to just start all my wedding planning rants with WPR so you can tap out if you want as soon as you see that. Sorry, but there’s less than a year to go and I need somewhere to put all my judgmental feels

People are criticizing Millie Bobby Brown for legally dropping Brown entirely in favour of Bongiovi. They are like “she’s erasing her last name”

Tell me you’ve never had a common last name without telling me you’ve never had a common last name.

Idk man, maybe I would buy a new phone if they actually made things I need (SMALLER with the same quality of camera and battery) rather than things I do not want (bigger, now with even more AI!). The only reason I went from an iPhone 13 Pro to 15 Pro was USB-C, and now I’m set.
stupid young people, stop buying a new phone every year if you don't want to be broke. wait no, not like that.

Update: someone was trying to argue that they could easily pull out of Canada because they have branches in the USA.

I don’t think expanding into new markets is exactly the same as trying to move headquarters to a new jurisdiction in the most heavily regulated industry in the world.
Someone on Facebook is spreading the rumour that TD is pulling out of Canada “pretty hard” because they wouldn’t renew a buddy’s mortgage.

Bro, I don’t think the Toronto Dominion Bank is going to pull out of Canada.

Here I am worrying about using old fluoro wax for my xc skis because it’s what we have on hand, while industry regulations for PFAS are being relaxed.
Unreal: "The EPA is moving forward with approvals for pesticides containing 'forever chemicals' as an active ingredient... The agency also announced plans to relax a rule requiring companies to report products containing PFAS and has proposed weakening drinking water standards for the chemicals."

I was lamenting how short all the cross country ski pants are, and suddenly someone said “why don’t you just look for a Dutch brand? They are tall” and it’s like an lightbulb went off over my head
