I absolutely love the cover Helen came up with for my weird little project.
Here's 3! I'm not a book cover designer so it's weird my art ended up on three books (but a good weird)!

Indescribably imaginative & fearless project by @laguettler.bsky.social

Funny how the puritans had to go to all the way to the Americas to find a place to fuck over because they were considered incompatible with Western Civilization in Europe at the time. Seems like they're still at it.

This is terrifying. Setting aside the breathtaking hypocrisy given his family history, Miller is channeling some dark dehumanizing propaganda with the power to kill.
Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization

On a much smaller scale, once smartphones came along, I noticed my ability to memorize phone numbers, which used to be pretty impressive, was gone. I simply never did that exercise anymore and the neural pathways fell into disrepair. Same with reading street maps/GPS.
In other words if you don't use your brainpower you lose it
Which is like muscles really
When people learn with ChatGPT instead of following their own searches, they end up knowing less, caring less, and producing worse advice, even when the facts are the same.

Friction is an essential ingredient for learning! Convenience makes us shallow.

It's weird to not only have lived through an information revolution but also now living through its undoing, all within less than a generation.
Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea

Clear, quick instructions.

If you use Google for Gmail or Workspace... or really, anything... you need to do this so that AI doesn't read your email and attachments.

We shouldn't have to opt out of something this invasive 🤷

*Periodic reminder: this shop keeps ZERO information about you on file.
Google has started automatically opting you in to let it read your stuff to train AI. You need to turn this off in SEVERAL places in your settings (not just for Gmail), if you want to maintain privacy and confidentiality.

A new Gmail update may allow Google to use your private messages and attachments for AI training. Here's how to turn it off.

I don’t do interior design or decorating, but sometimes I manage some decrappifying. Today I emptied the toy box that had been repurposed to hold shoes on a temporary basis when we moved in over a decade ago and threw out the 80% of shoes, which don’t fit anyone.
