I haven't seen one in person, let alone heard one I'm afraid.

I tried to describe a curlew to one of my year 5 readers at school this week. So pleased I got my description correct, verified by your lovely drawing.

Thank you. It certainly was a fun surprise. The school was buzzing for days. It reminded me of the time and RAF air/sea rescue helicopter visited my secondary school. They didn't open the doors and let us look inside that one.

He didn't get in trouble. He had permission from the RAF, local police & air traffic control + the head teacher. Only a few of the school staff knew in advance though so it was a complete surprise for the kids, all of whom got to go inside the Puma. 🙂

I got a few minutes tip off & managed to head to school in time to see the Puma make a high speed approach & landing. Several people, less well informed, dashed out of their houses thinking their roofs were being taken off. I sketched this later from a blurry snapshot.

The corner post is not easy to read as I cropped the drawing poorly. It's a fascinating shop if you are interested in teddy bears.

What a lovely encounter. We passed the body of what looked like a faun by the side of the road near Selby on Tuesday. Not somewhere we'd expect to see deer. Sad.

Thank you. I vividly, and often, recall a drawing exercise we did at art college. It focused.on getting depth into our drawings & paintings. We drew an arrangement of randomly placed sheets of paper draped over strings linking easels. Over and over...

Thank you. The arch on the left is formed of timber, not stone. It's a corner post of a timber framed building with overhanging, or jettied, upper floors.

Thank you. I did a study of the lovely wrought iron lamp holders outside the large Georgian house in the centre too.

Very true. I've moved house numerous times over those years.

What a shame. My Airfix duo were scrapped many years ago.

The Yorkshire Air Museum Matador has been dismantled, hopefully for restoration.

Why not. Would love to see the MP for Clacton frozen like Han Solo in the Star Wars films.
