Writing is also a tool of fascism. Everything can be used for good and bad.

Religion is not a puzzle for the intellect to solve, nor a system to critique. The Unseen can only be mapped in symbols, carried in rhythm, and felt in resonance. This is why Baha'u'llah wrote in metaphor. Imagery is the soul’s compass. Every symbol is a hint of Reality, an invitation, not a claim.

While our metaphysical frameworks differ, we have a point of resonance: that God is not a “being” among beings, but rather the ground or principle of existence itself. Baha'u'llah described God as the “unknowable essence”, even as all things depend upon that reality for their being.

She develops the link between ideology and totalitarianism in her book The Origins of Totalitarianism. But you’ll find an easier entry to it in The Cambridge Companion to Hannah Arendt.

I asked Copilot to summarize your article. It has many resonances with Hannah Arendt's concern about how totalitarianism rests on a simple ideological idea, which the masses embrace and use to justify atrocities (hence the total dislocation from reality).

Good heavens. So you live in Australia. I assumed that you lived in the US. I do love NZ. I don't have any desire to travel overseas. It seems to me I already live in the most desirable tourist destination.

Fair enough. I had no idea there was such a person. I live in New Zealand. A creationist would just get laughed at here. In any case, your description dispels any notion of your being a creationist.

Yes, that’s fair enough. So long as we thought of God as a narcissistic autocrat in the sky, we were never going to know anything about God.

Well, John MacKay, I think I agree with you. But I come to that conclusion for religious, scientific, and philosophical reasons. We probably agree on the scientific and philosophical, but not on the religious - given that you describe yourself as secular.

I couldn’t follow what you were saying. But, perhaps in a paragraph, you could give me the essence of your gospel of being. I’m not much of a reader, so no patience with long text. But I grasp concepts readily.
