My favorite adjective of late for videos is 'immersive,' where the viewer feels they are physically there; THEY'RE A PART OF IT! I started watching "The Beatles: Anthology" recently, & it's so fun to watch very young men go where no one had ever gone before! www.youtube.com/watch?v=8S3x...

History-book Dec 5: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart dies (1791); Walt Disney born (1901); 21st Amendment ratified in the US, repealing the nationwide ban on alcohol (1933); Montgomery Bus Boycott begins (1955); Nelson Mandela dies (2013) Social progress + beer! (IMO, we lost in the births/deaths category.)

After Lincoln's blind date: “I knew she was oversize, but she was a match for Falstaff. An “old maid,” I felt the truth of half of the appellation. When I beheld her, I couldn't avoid thinking of my mother; no withered features, her skin was too full of fat for wrinkles, but from her want of teeth."

I'm not sure if I posted this earlier, but it's still true. EACH WEEK the D's in Congress MUST put forward several reasons to call for impeachment. My first thoughts: Killing boat people, pardoning criminals, ICE, raising tariffs, blocking approved funding, etc. Put MAGATs on the defensive, we win!

One of my favorite "get-ta-know-ya" questions is: "If you could meet anyone, living or dead, for dinner, who would it be?" ("D'uh! Obviously living," does NOT count*) Rachel is on my short list. (Springsteen, Oliver, et al) *FOR A NEW CAR! What is the source movie? www.youtube.com/watch?v=NLAe...

The audio sounds like an AI Rachel Maddow, {e.g. a US (pause) supplied weapon.} Yet the story, (sadly, sans video), seems like the most optimistic news for Ukraine in years! A game-changer! A moral inspiration for us, and complete despair for the russian criminals. www.youtube.com/watch?v=smwo...

Five powerfully-written letters penned by ex-slaves to their former 'owners:' www.washingtonpost.com/history/2022...
The painful, cutting and brilliant letters Black people wrote to their former enslavers
These letters from Black Americans to the people who once controlled their lives show a desire for freedom and a desperate longing to be reunited with their families.

I was born in Minneapolis, but I identify as Ukrainian. I prefer countries that fight to preserve their capital rather than attack it. Here's (auditory), life in Ukraine. I've lived in Ukraine for 15 years. To help, read the comments. www.washingtonpost.com/world/intera...
Russia bombs Ukraine almost every night. This is what it sounds like.
This summer the Kremlin’s air campaign killed 518 civilians with a record 11,739 drones and 433 missiles, an analysis by The Washington Post found.

Saddest of all is that Drumpf has redefined what's 'acceptable.' The Kuwait plane/bribe, Saudi bribe to his son-in-law, the bit-coin bullshit - each an impeachable offense! Killing people on boats - murder! The Capital has been attacked 3 times: the Brits in 1812, MAGATS in 2020, & Drumpf this year!

"Congrats, West Virginia. Your kids are now in danger because conservatives love measles & polio more than healthy children. Republican governor/antivaccine enthusiast, Patrick Morrisey, issued an executive order demanding that state health authorities issue religious exemptions to vaccine mandate."

Drumpf strikes on Venezuelan boats: “narcoterrorism.” Then he announced a pardon for former Honduran president Juan Hernández, found guilty by an American jury of conspiring to import 400 tons of cocaine into the US & sentenced to 45 years in federal prison. Drumpf wrote “MAKE HONDURAS GREAT AGAIN!”

Drumpf “A very Happy Thanksgiving salutation to all of our Great American Citizens & Patriots who have been so nice in allowing our Country to be divided, disrupted, carved up, murdered, beaten, mugged, & laughed at, for being ‘Politically Correct’ & just plain STUPID, when it comes to Immigration.”

True Democracy involves listening to all. I can't help but believe our nation's founders, (who found the idea of a 'professional politician' abhorrent), would applaud a lottery-system method to fill temporary positions. www.goodgoodgood.co/articles/ost...
To restore trust in government, this Belgian town created a lottery that elects 30 random citizens to power
Ostbelgien took a bet that a participatory democracy would improve its government. Six years later, that bet is paying off.

From a former GOP member of Congress:
Trott lambasted the MAGA cult leader, dubbing him "King Donald" for his use of executive orders before dropping the mic: “Let’s be clear, Trump’s executive branch is being run by a bunch of sycophants, felons, and idiots."
Yeah, & that's from Drumpf's team....

Here’s what happiness looks like around the world
People find happiness in material security, sharing meals and helping strangers. Here’s what that looks like in Finland, Senegal, Indonesia and Jamaica.
