Victim-blaming is unacceptable no matter how you try to spin it

The first successful conviction of hate speech against trans people happened in New South Wales, Australia.

While the UK is too busy defending abusive cis men, Australia at least takes it a little more seriously.
It’s not perfect by any means, but it’s progress and I’m glad to see it.

Just so you know 👇🏼

There’s a reason It’s a wonderful life still has wide appeal.
You see, this is a subtle reference to how we’re living in a capitalistic hellscape where people can’t afford basic things.

That a quote from 1946 still hits so deep to this day because people still can’t make enough to save 5000$.

Graham Linehan was found guilty of criminal damage for destroying a 17 year-old girl’s phone. However, he was cleared of the harassment charges despite clear evidence of his repeated pattern of transphobic and misogynistic behaviour.

In Aotearoa (New Zealand), the current right-wing government decided to harm kids by taking away the option for proper healthcare. In this case, specifically banning puberty pausers. Not for cis kids though, just trans kids because the harm & cruelty is the point.

We cannot keep allowing politicians to enact policies that harm people without consequences for their actions. They’re supposed to be public servants. Yet they get into power to enrich themselves and trample on the population’s wellbeing in doing so.

I’ve been uncertain about what to say today.
The last few years, we’ve seen a consolidated effort to attack and erase trans people from society.

Alberta implemented the American extremist playbook to harm trans kids.
Tabling Bill 9 using the notwithstanding clause to avoid having it be challenged in court as they know the harm they are causing while entrenching authoritarianism in the province.

Let’s check in on Australia and the current state for queer and trans rights.
And for the most part, it’s good news according to a 2025 poll.

You can justify this to yourself however you want, but you’re making things worse and unsafe for all of us by your actions and rhetoric.

While last week it was widely reported that current passports for US-based trans people may be in danger of being invalidated, a recent change in language on their FAQ now states that all passports will remain “valid for travel until their expiration date…”

For those who managed get a correct one.

On Thailand, there’s been a rise in tourism over the years. But with the recent rise in anti-trans rhetoric, and the fetishizing of trans people, its also lead to an increase in incidents like the one show in this video.

CW for discussions of violence against women with blurred video.

Transvestigation really is stupid 🙄
I have no love for Erika, but this transphobia is what Charlie, and their organisation Turning Point, peddled in.
This is what happens when you rot your brain with transphobia and obsess over trans people.
Because why tf would it matter if she was.

Sydney and Melbourne!
What are queer and women-owned businesses that you recommend?

Or if you are running one, message me!
I’d love to see if I can pass by during my trip over there 💜

Oscar Isaac on coming back to Star Wars: depends. Only if they don’t succumb to fascism.

Living up to the resistance fighter he played 👏

The corrupt SCOTUS thankfully rejects Kim Davis’ bid to overturn queer marriage equality.
As others have said: Get f**** Kim Davis!

I’ll be over here happier in my queer marriage than she’ll ever be ✌🏼

The SCOTUS decided to do trump’s bidding and is allowing the US administration to block gender marker changes on passports. This corrupt court would rather put a target on trans people’s backs than uphold the law and the constitution.

Between Zohran Mamdani winning while standing firmly by trans rights, and Erica Deuso becoming the first trans mayor of a town in Pennsylvania, it shows that there’s more decency out there than there’s hate.

Holy sh*t I’m so happy NYC! You did it! You actually did it 🎉
Congratulations Mayor Mamdani 💜

From @glamour.com featuring nine trans women for its women of the year award, to Joanne being big mad about it, and finally to the EHRC backtracking on its segregatory efforts in the UK.

A few things have happened in the UK, so let’s talk about it.

You’re angry at Trump? You should also despise Cheney. Despite voicing his opposition to him, Cheney helped create this monster.

If you forgot how terrible of a person he was, might I suggest the movie Vice to at least give you some idea.

For context, Brianna a few days ago said she realized how vicious the right is and how appeasing them hasn’t worked.
Yet she still refuses to be accountable for the harm she’s done to not just the trans community, but to others as well with her racism and Islamophobia.

“I guess if we're gonna date, you may have to defeat my seven evil exes.”

Also, found this random hammer just lying there and now my PowerUp is… electric.
It’s cool I guess.

One of the candidates for Ensemble Montréal, a journalist by the name of Leslie Jones, wrote an entire opinion piece in the National Post this last summer that oozed contempt for the queer community. Being especially transphobic in its framing and talking points.
