First harvest from my indoor garden! White turnips. They were yummy!

Bit of a rant.

Saw a discounted ebook in the Bookbub newsletter that caught my eye. I prefer Kobo, so went over there to check for it.

Huh...the $1.99 book is #3.

Book 1 is $12.99 for the ebook... That's a nope for a new-to-me author. Bummer.

I haven't been writing. Feeling a bit overwhelmed by the shape of the world right now. So I've been hiding in my hobbies - gardening in the afternoon and genealogy in the chilly mornings. It's soothing. But I'm hoping to get back on track soon.

Donated to my local foodbank yesterday. It was something I could do and was meaning to do and finally made it happen. I'll try to give them money every month as long as I can.

Watching Hardacres on Britbox right now with mixed feelings. Part of me is happy it's a cozy. Part of me is raging about the lack of historical accuracy. I'm not a historian, but I've read enough researching my ancestors. It would be so easy to...

Another bad sleep night, so it's a foggy brain day. Tried to wrestle some invasive vines but they're in full sun and it's ridiculously hot out there today. Gave most of the garden a big drink and now I'm thinking about a nap.

Today is one of those days where you will always remember where you were when the planes hit. Like assassinations and hurricanes and other major disasters. It stays with you. And people of your generation can ask, "Where were you when you heard?"

Ooh! I actually wrote over 1000 words today! It's been awhile since I've been able to do that. Nice.

Owie. Pulled a muscle yesterday while trying to move a rain soaked bag of mulch. This body is not as strong as it used to be. Sigh. Getting older is full of surprises.

I submitted a short story for an anthology over the weekend. I already had some good bones that I'd put aside awhile ago. The theme seemed right, so I cleaned it up and sent it in. Been awhile since I did something like that.

Don't forget about the DRM-free Humble Bundle from Tor (with Murderbot, Witch King, and more), benefiting World Center Kitchen. The donation is now at over 58,000. It would be awesome to get it up to $100,000.

Sinus headache put the kibosh on yesterday. But I have to say the lavender eye-pillow was a little helpful.

I have been really pushing myself to get back to some marketing. But then I realized that I have some old back matter I need to address. And when you've got over 2 dozen books wide...that's a lot of tinkering. So today, despite a headache and some brain fog, I sorted out a to-do list. Whew.

I'm sorry to say that I got very little writing done this week. I am blaming brainfog and lethargy. And those I blame on stress. I can't believe I haven't published anything this year and it's already the middle of August. I keep hoping to feel better soon. Not sure how to make that happen.
