Knitting, spinning (of the yarny sort), baseball, hockey, all leavened with snarkery and a lefty sensibility.
This is the correct take. There are some pies I don't like (pecan pie, I'm looking at you). And, if you don't like (sour) cherry pie or key lime pie, well then, more for me. (And you can have my pecan pie and pumpkin pie; I'm generous that way.)

So Thanksgiving dinner was white meat turkey, green beans, cranberry relish, and pie. We had the rest of the sides the next day, when the power was restored.

And then there was the time at my parents' house when the power went out while the turkey was in the (electric) oven. We left the oven closed, and cooked the green beans (sans almonds, as my sister's allergic) on top of the wood stove. When the beans were done, the white meat on the chicken was too.

I had a major falling out with my ex-SIL over green beans. Yes green beans. I asked what I could bring. She suggested a veggie dish, and I offered green beans with slivered almonds. I still don't know what her precise objection was, but somehow, that was Just Not Done.

Yes! Podcasts are for when I drive, when I workout, when I'm doing housework.

From a halachic perspective, what matters isn't the amount of effort involved but whether the effort involves a prohibited category of work. Hence, back when I was observant, if I left the house, my key was pinned "worn" as jewelry of some sort instead of being in my pocket. (2/2)

Do you have fencing that would serve as an eruv? Would fetching the feed involve crossing such a fence? What kind of work is involved in defending said horf from said goats? Would the horf be unhappy at the disruption in his routine? (1/2)

I know enough to know that I don't want to know any more, and, also, that I spend too much time online.

With everything that's happened over the past year, *this* is what would have given him an aneurysm?

Alternatively, a 24-hour mute of a phrase like "SuperBowl" on the day works wonders.

Yeah. Outside the 75' zone, there's be no problem with a t-shirt.

Well you're not supposed to wear partisan clothing or political buttons. But there's no cut-off on ads, except there's a no-poster/placard zone in the immediate vicinity of a polling station (75 or 100 ft from the entrance).

Yeah, I remember one family gathering where all the teens and tweens gathered trying to graph out the family relations, and iron out any confusion (no first cousin twice removed is *not* the same thing as second cousin!).

Thanks. I was familiar with the term/concept; even though I don't move in fannish circles, I'm online enough that how could I not be. What I'm really interested in is the Supreme Court brief, though. I'm trying to imagine the kind of case.

Has this story been told online?

I wasn't going to buy any yarn at Rhinebeck this year. But when I passed the NFC booth, and saw this colorway and the explanation, well, so much for not buying any yarn!
