My weather app says there's cloud cover, but I guess it's not complete. This is the view from my back deck, just holding the phone out away from the house a bit. (Can I also say that night mode on my iPhone is pretty amazing.)

I regularly spin during Zoom calls with friends. Here's where I got up to last night. This is c. 43g of a merino/soy silk blend that I picked up at a Nutmeg Spinning Guild auction. 🧶

I can't eat enough veggies for even a half-share CSA to be worth it for me. Fortunately, my favorite farm/farmstand offers a cut flower share, and I picked up the first bunch this afternoon.

Just for grins, I made a bunch of birds with handspun yarn. Pattern for this one is Bluebird of Happiness, on Ravelry.

My most recent yarn, a cable-plied BFL, possibly superwash, dyed by Spunky Eclectic. I spun the singles on a c. 20g spindle made by @brewergnome.bsky.social and plied (both plying passes!) on a larger spindle made by @akerworks.bsky.social. The second (cable) plying pass was a bit of a challenge.

I finally got around to washing my most recent FOs, two pairs of socks, from yarn I spun myself, with a spindle. The yarn for both is two ply, with low singles twist and high plying twist. 🧶 #knitting #fiberarts #socks

Dinner tonight was a cheesy creamy (as in 2 cups of heavy cream) cauliflower casserole. It's tasty, and there are leftovers.

For the past few months I've spent zoom socials with a spindle, spinning this gorgeous BFL/nylon sock blend, and now I'm done. 🧶 I haven't counted the strands for yardage, bug each skein weighs c. 53g and the yarn feels like fingering weight, but the proof of it is in the knitting.

There was spicy Italian sausage in my meat box that came last week, my local farmstand had kale on offer, and I still had plenty of Rancho Gordo beans. So I made soup. It's tasty, and there's already some in the freezer for when I don't have the oomph for cooking.

Attention, @thegeorg.bsky.social! We had pierogies at the fair yesterday. I had Buffalo chicken, and my friend had potatoes and cheese. And best of all, the booth was benefitting a group that helps disable veterans acquire and train service dogs.

So I lied. The aurora indeed isn’t visible to the naked eye here in suburban southern Connecticut, but there’s an odd glow to the west, despite trees and a ridge. So I aimed my phone in that direction. The original image is black and featureless, but when I boosted the exposure, look what happened

I'm not sure what will occur first, the heat death of the universe or the rinse water for these purple socks running clear. This is the 10th sinkful (I think; I might have lost count) & the 6th color catcher. I worked hard on these socks, and I'd like to think I won't have to hand wash them always.🧶

I generally keep a spindle handy to keep my hands busy during Zoom calls. This project is Romney from Tranquil Morning Farm, and the spindle is from Gnomespun/ @DanBrewer. It's such a perfect spindle, that I'm spinning the finest singles I've ever spun on a single. 🧶

Since the latest Apple Watch update, the watch no longer thinks that winding a ball of yarn by hand is an elliptical workout. 🧶
