Executive Director at the Fossil Fuel Non Proliferation Treaty. Climate, energy transition, and politics with a justice perspective. Also Port Adelaide football club if the community grows here.
It’s been a huge week in Bogotá for the Amazon Summit. The decision to adopt the Mechanism for Amazonian Indigenous Peoples participation (MAPI for its acronym in Spanish) to bring Indigenous nations into the formal governance structure of the Amazon Treaty is historic.

Huge news from the InterAmerican Court. So much to process in the 300+ pages but the finding is clear and should send a message across the Americas and the world

"States are obliged to... supervise and control, as a minimum the exploration, extraction, transport and processing of fossil fuels"

Planting trees can help save the planet, right? A new study finds that to offset all the planet-warming carbon emissions from fossil fuel reserves, trees would have to entirely cover an area the size ...

Equally shitty is that this is also true at fossil fuel extraction sites: so many missing & murdered Indigenous women, in particular, have disappeared in proximity to "man camps" for oil & gas mining.

The African Development Bank did not approve any direct funding for fossil fuel projects in 2024, but its failure to exclude #FossilGas leaves the door open for backsliding.

Continued investment in gas risks locking #African countries into stranded assets, energy insecurity, and inequality.

If the club “exists to win premierships” it has to ask how it’s working toward that goal with current setup. Deluded if they think Ins post bye will make a difference. I think they’ve missed a trick by not putting Marshall on long term injury list and going to MSD. Connected to Ken imo
Port Adelaide's controversial coaching handover is having a detrimental impact on the team, writes Ronny Lerner on FOOTYOLOGY. He says the club should install Josh Carr in the senior role as soon as possible. #footyology

A wild carbon credit boondoggle in which Chevron bought credits for a project on Indigenous land that residents didn't (and still don't) know anything about, painstakingly documented by the great Andres Bermudez-Lievano @elclip.bsky.social @mongabaylatam.bsky.social

In Colombia, Chevron has a habit of buying carbon credits from projects made behind indigenous people’s backs.

The amount of ice "missing", compared to 1979, is an area the size of Alaska!

March is when Arctic sea ice extent hits its maximum, before declining to minimum, usually Sept

A: Only as a separate target

Why should LULUCF be separated, particularly in countries with large sinks? I explain for Norway, but the lessons are general.
