We've got a new piece of equipment appear in the gym.

There are no instructions though, so I'm not sure what I should be doing...

I've been growing veg for 10 years. I've tried all kinds of methods and these are, genuinely, the best carrots I've ever managed.

I now own three of these. The impending 2026 hosepipe ban will not affect me one jot (and if they run out then, lads, we really will have stacked it).

Today's bike playlist is 90s summer blockbuster bangers. I'm absolutely showing my age now, but they don't make 'em like they used to.

When you get so much predatory journal spam that you miss that legitimate review request...

One of these is not like the others.

I've been down here twice in the past four days. On both occasions there was a car crash so bad it required the police to attend.

I lived near there a decade ago and it was an accident blackspot then. Literally nothing has changed in that decade, or more.

15th November and we're done. I threw maybe 10 or so out, but I ate precisely zero green tomatoes.

You can actually see the stress spike just before submission as I realised I'd forgotten to cost something...

...and then the HR crash afterwards back to the lowest HR ive seen all week...

Good morning.

Am I excited about my impending research leave you ask?

Last night I thought I was fairly on top of my workload (especially for the busiest time of the year) and my stress levels were actually fairly good...

I've had such a crap commute this morning, that I've written to my MP and Councillor.

Our road culture is fundamentally broken.

After however many years I've realised that the reason these ticket machines are so slow and unresponsive is because im too tall, and despite looking normal from my perspective I'm jabbing the buttons too high...

My first chance to really play with the new IMD 2025 (I made a quick map of Liverpool last night).

The bottom 10 most-deprived areas is eye-opening. 7 of the bottom 10 are in Blackpool...

I might feel like death warmed up. I might have 4 hours of lectures in the next 5 hours. But the river with a stonking tailwind is always nice.

I'll take that commute over a drive or even the bus any day of the week.

I wrote two sets of quarter pages in this and I realise making students do a 2hr exam is a physical task as much as a mental one...

*I do legit think exams are an important pedagogical tool and I will die on that hill.
