If you wanna walk around a city and pester thousands of proc gen NPCs this is The Game.
It's interesting how indies with smaller teams and budgets manage just fine without implementing genAI "productivity tools".
Worth saying that Kitfox does not use genAI for anything we do. This includes our developed and published games and our marketing materials.

Not to be the fun police but I do hope people know that Arc Raiders does use generative AI for voice acting, and by supporting the game you're letting higher-ups know that this is an okay practice.
They try to downplay this on the Steam store page by describing the AI usage as vaguely as possible.

I'll never forget going to The Game Awards when Boyfriend Dungeon was nominated. We had to scramble to find an off-site COVID testing center because they wouldn't let us access their on-site services.
Then they didn't let us walk the red carpet or let us in to the show in time.

The Game Awards are not meant for emerging devs and indies. We saw this with how they treat nominees of Games for Impact and now with the gutting of Future Class. They have the power to share the spotlight and have walked it back more and more every year.
EXCLUSIVE on @gamedeveloper.bsky.social: not only has The Game Awards not nominated a Future Class for 2025, it's told alumni it "does not have any active programming plans" for the award.
The Future Class page was taken down sometime this year—eliminating a definitive archive of honorees.
