Journalist with Follow the Money. All things tech, EU, transparency. FOI curious.
Spannender Punkt. Freilich könnte keine Künstler*in allein von Netflix überleben - gut verdienen tut daran nur die Plattform selbst. Was sagt Trappel dazu?

If you were to design a swipeable "Insta for journalism", how would it look like?

I will do that. But the Commission's newest, most vile trick is to proactively publish short, meaningless minutes of lobby meetings, while refusing to disclose anything about what actually went on behind closed doors.

This remarkable step has been barely noticed by the Brussels press corps.

Opposition to the city as a political space has been a staple of US conservatism for decades. Consider this diatribe by leading neoconservative Irving Kristol (father to prominent never-Trumper @billkristolbulwark.bsky.social)

That reminds me of when James Crisp, then the Telegraph's man in Brussels, asked Clegg whether first allying with Cameron, then joining Facebook made him a 'Brexit enabler'. The look on Clegg's face was priceless.

I think saying Android is free software might be technically correct, but as you say, they have rendered that meaningless. Kudos to Graphene and LineageOS for giving it a go, though

The EU wants their nickel back?

One top official told his staff explicitly not to write down too much, and to destroy handwritten notes after. But no public administration can function without records of important meetings. I suspect the Commission has simply created a new type of doc it pretends does not fall under FOI.
