I don’t know what exactly this would mean for what people addressed him as when he becomes king, but this name is useful for tracking his deeds in these documents.

We see a complex glyph with an “A” shape, and a cane motif. This has a chain of 10 beads + 2 beads attached to it. This is read as the symbol for years, making this as the year “12 Cane,” in the traditional dating system. In the context of this page, we understand this is the year he was born.

Take the Codex Zouche-Nuttall, named after Rockstar Mexican-American archaeologist Zelie Nuttall, and Baron Zouche, who held it in a private collection. It’s better to know it as “Codex Tonindeye” a Mixtec name that means something like “Chronicle” which describes what the text is.
