i got my apprenticeship not on accident, per se, but i gave my portfolio to teresa sharpe to ask for guidance & critique, assuming the shop was full & not taking on a new artist, just wanting feedback from an industry giant. covid lockdown started, i asked for my portfolio back, and i got the offer

tattooing as a career came up from doing tattoo designs as commissions and then cutting out the middleman— the designs i did required a lot of changes and didn’t really fit as tattoos… i didn’t really like how they looked on folks and in my apprenticeship learned more about adequate tattoo design

also why… is the horse even wearing a saddle LOL. i’m not a big horse person but i feel like… it’s not that hard to look up what tack and gear horses would be wearing for different applications 😩

bonus of being in my 30s is that i’m over a lot of the emotional trauma, beyond that it still informs some of my quirks & bad habits. the downside is that the physical trauma is now the thing that won’t let me forget :/ sux that there’s not really an easy escape & a good portion isn’t even my fault

ok but an adobo casserole would kind of go crazy

they have new staff this year so i think they also just have a lot to work out for their maiden voyage in a big con! it’s not out of the question for the future, i think— i might reach out to them after this year to try and help out haha

i don’t think mff has tattoo artist accommodations at this time (& don’t get tattooed in a hotel room pls) but a few of my friends/folks i’ve work with before are in chicago!
