Turns out the last tournament wasn't my farewell to #bloodbowl BB2020: this evening is the away leg of our Bracknell vs Aldershot 10 vs 10 rivalry game. I'm playing orcs vs Hekdar's Norse, same as the home fixture. 1-0 down at the half but 2 players up. Will go for the win ...

Hobby update: after that Slann team speedpaint I fancied doing more of the #bloodbowl stadium. I did the turn, reroll and score boards and all the little numbers. Love these big pieces, where you don't need to be neat, as a palette cleanser.

Planning my roster for my first #bloodbowl third season edition tournament, noticed this amusing free inducement:
Saltmound supreme - fun to go to a tournament with such unusual rules (high gold, progression skills) and glad I got to run the Slann out. I finished 2-1-0 for 6th place out of 26. Congrats to purplechest who won with the only 3-0-0 score. I won Most Touchdowns with 9. #bloodbowl

Game 3 of Saltmound Supreme vs Seb's chorfs. Very much like the last game, I finished the first half 2-0 up on his drive. Scored on T3 if second half, won 3-1 and suffered 8 casualties. Slann have been great today! My opponent took the frogging very well, fun final game of BB2020 #bloodbowl.

Game 3 of Saltmound Supreme vs Seb's chorfs. Very much like the last game, I finished the first half 2-0 up on his drive. Scored on T3 if second half, won 3-1 and suffered 8 casualties. Slann have been great today! My opponent took the frogging very well, fun final game of BB2020 #bloodbowl.

Woohoo, I finished my Slann #bloodbowl team with 3 days to go before the tournament. I finished the bases with some AK Puddles and some tufts, then painted the eyes. Decided not to edge highlight because its a speed-paint and there aren't so many sharp edges that really need it. #minipainting

Slann WIP update, with 4 evenings to go: I daubed everyone with a 1:1 mix of quinacridone magenta and Windsor purple oils (second pic), then after 30 min wiped most off with a sponge. Then a darkline wash with a black/purple oil mix. Then drybrushed the bases with greens. #bloodbowl #minipainting

Slann painting WIP with 5 days to go until my tournament: I got some colours down everywhere with contrasts and inks. I thought liquitex inks would be good for slann skin because they dry satin. Remaining to do: shading, some refinement, and the bases. #bloodbowl #minipainting

This week at #boardgames night we played Lost Ruins of Arnak with some number of expansions. I was the professor this time, doing lots of things related to artifacts and research. I used two hot air balloons to go fight some monsters. Good game!

I like to paint at a leisurely pace - #bloodbowl teams normally take me months. But I decided to paint a Slann team in 2 weeks for a tournament, to get them crossed of the list of teams. So we'll get the contrast paints out and try to do these quickly! Could be a fun challenge?

This week at #boardgames night we played #ArkhamHorrorTCG. 4 investigators visited Cairo, where people were falling asleep and not waking. We checked out the city, had a trip into the desert, then came back again to whack the head cultist causing it all. A good night's work. I played Ursula Downs.

Game 2 of MCC vs Garvfield's Orcs. A tricky drive but I get the TD, but Mike scores a throw team mate TD to equalise at the half. My defence is quite good and he can't make a 4,4,3,2 on his T16 to win, so a 1-1 draw and a good game. #bloodbowl

Renegades get 8 skills including 2 secondaries, no more than 3 of each skill. I put 2 block on the ogre and rat ogre, blodged the dark elf, then added some wrestle for consistency. Plus 3RR and an apothecary.

Getting my team ready for this weekend's #bloodbowl tournament: Manfred's Chaos Cup. A chaos-themed 1-day tournament that is also a birthday party. We must roll on a mutations table before each game. I picked Chaos Renegades, since its on theme and I get to play my recently finished pink dudes:
This week at #boardgames night we played Sprit Island again! As usual I took the easy and familiar Spread of Rampant Green and my friends took all kinds of wacky spirits. Beasts were everywhere! We took down those level 2 Prussians good and proper.

Last week at #boardgames night, we played Snowdonia, a worker placement game about building railway. I'm a big fan of Agricola, but I find most other worker-placement games a bit ho-hum, this one included.

The #bloodbowl pitch is almost complete! I'm happy how it turned out. Just need to add some rust effect to the sewer covers and then varnish it. Looking forward to playing on it when the new edition comes out and the league restarts.

Round 3 of B2SB vs Col's nurgle with Hackflem and 1 RR. He smashes up my dwarves but I somehow manage to get Hackflem down. When he stands up he can't make a rush to score. 2nd half I roll a gazillion foul appearances and lose 1-0. Tough going with dwarves vs Nurgle. #bloodbowl
