It shouldn't be common in Alberta for a child to be forced to wait more than a year for a mental health and/or developmental care diagnosis. With the school year approaching, pediatrician recruitment, retention and support are required.

The new Primary Care Physician Compensation Model (PCPCM) has already reached 1000 applicants. Physicians in Alberta are already feeling more supported in their practices. This is a hopeful step in stabilizing primary care practices in our province.

As of today, Friday, June 20, Alberta has reached 1,020 cases of measles. The virus continues to take a toll on our strained health care system. Immunization and effective public health policy is needed immediately to slow the spread.
