Apologies to the rest of you, but this is my (personal) weather forecast today. I've already been for a walk, coffee and a bacon roll, and I don't start work till 4pm

It's freezing out there, but so shiny

Current affairs might suggest he's destined for the sacrificial altar

I do want to say at this point that the sheer number of ads makes watching The Rings of Power almost impossible now

Amazon, this decision was a mistake. You're ruining your brand

Oh Disa, my love. "Can ye not mend this?" has become a mantra I've adopted for all kinds of personal conflict

I still cherish every (all too brief) moment we were given in Khazad-dûm #TropRewatch

And it's impossible, given all we now know, to recapture the feeling when we first met *HIM*

Alt: a man with long hair and a beard is wearing a blanket over his shoulders: this is from season 1 episode 2 of Rings of Power, and the "man" is Sauron, the great villain of 2nd Age Middle-earth

Remember the first time we heard the intro to Rings of Power, & sat fascinated as the sand grains shifted into tantalising patterns? When we found out Howard Shore wrote the title music? The wonder of realising we were fully back in Middle-earth as ep2 unrolled #TropRewatch

Break my heart again, why don't you? 🥺🥹

Linden's tree is reaching for Narsil, or so it seems. I love your version of Gil-galad

And Míriel's crown, floating free. And the drowned Númenoreans 😢

Hmm... now where have I heard that before? 🤔

Bah

It should be Servalan

It's quite funny, looking back, that one of the dudebro complaints about Rings of Power's Galadriel (she's arrogant, unwise, brash) are precisely the characteristics we are supposed to notice, a disturbing foreshadowing of her journey into darkness, millennia before she becomes her wise 4th Age self

Listening to Galadriel's voiceover as the S1Ep1 prologue unfolds: "for many elves, the pain of those days passed out of thought and mind." But not for her

She is here, already, so much wiser than the youngster who watched her husband ride away to war. Her journey in trop so far has been fascinating

Ahh. The sheer number of manky apple cores (used sweets, icecream wrappers, broken toys, sandy shells, grubby socks) I've had shoved into my pockets over the years! One of the great joys of patenthood

I can say from experience that there's nothing experts like more than inducting newbies into the cult (I mean, of course, sharing their special interest). You'll be welcomed 🌱

I was in a 10-year platonic relationship so good it renewed my faith in men

Later we became partners, a fact only surprising to me because I'm stupid* about relationships. I honestly had no idea I was attracted to him (let alone how he felt)
