I just want to note the difference in approach with which this is being reported than when Rene Gonzales immediately started accusing people of terrorism and the press ran with it.
Portland Fire & Rescue officials say they responded to reports of the fire in Southeast Portland at around 2:40 a.m Sunday.

If you ask Claude "does {thing you saw} suggest a sql injection" it may respond:

"Yes [... Thing] strongly suggests they're using a [vulnerable query].
Let me test if there's actually a SQL injection vulnerability:"

And then try to snuff Bobby Tables before you can react.

Portland Deputy City Attorney claims:

"Near the end of 2024, the PPB ceased collection of Automatic License Plate Reader (“ALPR”) data. The vendor [] ended its support for the ALPR program...."

Can anyone verify or rebut this?

What about the League’s work are you most proud of, Councilor?

My perspective is that the City spends a whole lot of tax money for the LoOC to lobby the Oregon Legislature to weaken public records laws.
As Portland’s representative on the League of Oregon Cities board, I was proud to help the league host its 100th conference last week in the City of Roses. With 450+ attendees, 140 cities were represented, from towns as small as 174 (Detroit) to metropolitan areas as large as 2.5 million (Portland).

This guy is in charge of the lights in town: @pkoonce.bsky.social he's incredibly progressive (as transportation planners go, in any case)
It's honestly bonkers that the Portland Streetcar doesn't have signal priority. It would instantly change the face of public transportation in Portland and likely be a fairly simple change.

I hope they find out.
Perhaps Mayor Wilson and the current City Council have no idea their lawyers are spending City money on litigation to help the Portland Police Department assist the feds in filming and IDing protesters.

Big Zenith news:

On January 21, City Council will hold a work session on Zenith Energy from 9:30-11:30 am followed by a community listening session from noon-2 PM.

This is a direct result of Portlanders being noisy + relentless & a new council that is ready to get city operations in the daylight.

Interesting article.

notes for the @oregonian.com editor:

*dividing by 0.2 is the same as multiplying by 5;

*the ordinance says increment each 10 feet

*numbers on a given side of the street increment by 2 (odd if N or W, even if S or E);

add this to the nearly 53k police weapons that have shown up at crime scenes since 2006 (when tracking began).

"Taxpayers are buying firearms that are then resold for pennies on the dollar and ultimately ending up in criminals' hands," a former ATF leader said.
