I just want to note the difference in approach with which this is being reported than when Rene Gonzales immediately started accusing people of terrorism and the press ran with it.

As Portland’s representative on the League of Oregon Cities board, I was proud to help the league host its 100th conference last week in the City of Roses. With 450+ attendees, 140 cities were represented, from towns as small as 174 (Detroit) to metropolitan areas as large as 2.5 million (Portland).

It's honestly bonkers that the Portland Streetcar doesn't have signal priority. It would instantly change the face of public transportation in Portland and likely be a fairly simple change.
