Eora man on Darkinjung country; Father of 2 boys - #ClimateActionNow; University Teacher and Discipline Lead - Social Sciences. Attempting to start an #antifa garden under the palms and gums of Empire Bay, NSW (Yes, the irony - pic above). Opinions mine.
Another example of shade being essential for plants as things get hotter. It was 39c today. The first is a bean plant in full sun. The second is shaded from afternoon sun by Soy Beans.

All Tomatoes now starting to come off the vine. First Cherries, then Cherokee Purple, Black Cherries, lastly pear shaped red Toms. Vines are large for the beginning of Summer due to a dry Spring. Hence the fires here.

This is my son's (7) first ever poem, for news day. So proud of him. But also of us. Think we might have done something right.

Pretty Pumpkin basking in the sun.

She is settling in well. First Puppy School class today. She's very smart and learning extraordinarily quickly.

Red Cottonwood - Red Hibiscus [Hibiscus Rubra] in full flower at our front door. This tree is 2 years old and it's huge (8m tall x 3m wide). Flowers most of the year, but best in summer. Also shallow fibrous roots that don't hurt pipes or structures. Great tree.

Temp goes up to 29C, 35C, 36C in Empire Bay tomorrow and in the next two days as the broken arm of the monster spins off the South East Coast.

When puppy and 19yo cat (Munchkin) meet.

It's slow going but making progress. Luckily the puppy (Pumpkin) is super calm and patient

17C (20c) in East coast #Australia, Summer. Every time I check on these cold summer days the jetstream looks like this wobbly monster with an arm over the east coast. This wobble is caused by our #ClimateReality.

Drying Elephant Garlic [Allium ampeloprasum var. ampeloprasum]. Small, but I got the bulblets. Like Leeks they grow easily and well here if a little small. I'll keep trying.

Upon exiting the shower we were greeted with a shocking scene. Sheets peeled back. Ass on pillow. How would we ever recover from the great enstinkening?

I just brought this ball of joy back from the RSPCA for my sons. We took a good time to find her. English Mastif cross. So far, at 3 months, she likes carrots and snuggling. She'll be giant and slobbery. Our first family dog 🙂
