Boy was I wrong.
Sadly that match was anything but "special". It was good enough. They worked hard I suppose. But it was fairly soulless.

I have a feeling that a very special match is going to happen on Thursday at Korakuen Hall. Nobody is talking about it, and that's understandable but I would encourage everyone to circle it on their calendars. Regardless of your interest level in current NJPW, I think it will be must-see.

Erick Stevens added to 16 Carat. It's a really good lineup so far. Most excited I've been for it this far out in a long time.

I think Megan Bayne's run at the moment going back & forth between AEW & Stardom, doing impactful, meaningful work while raising her profile and hitting new levels as a wrestler, is one of the really cool organic stories stories in a wrestling world that has too few of them these days.

the Dragongate house show uploads from King Of Gate are really enjoyable. No frills mono a mono matches that don't overstay their welcome. Kagetora vs. Jacky, and Kato vs. Mochizuki Jr in particular were a lovely bit of wrestling.
