You can punish Netflix for endorsing MAGA Indophobia - and save money in the process!

🏴‍☠️ Let's make piracy great again!

Download qBittorrent (Win) / Transmission (Mac) and get your films and TV serials for free instead of subsidizing rentiers.

"Antifa" is to Trump's America as "International Satanism" or the "LGBT movement" is to Putin's Russia. Neither actually exist as legal or unitary entities, so can be used to criminalize anyone or anything at all.

Which is the point.

MAGA total fascism needs to be confronted!

Some of you may be surprised why things ended up the way they did between Trump and Musk.

The reality is they could have hardly ended any other way and I said as much even before Trump got elected.

Looks like systematic defamation and banning victims on false charges of sockpuppetry whenever they try to appeal via RationalWiki's procedures might finally have consequences. FAFO! 😘

Latakia and Tartus should declare independence from the failed Syria project and reconstitute the Alawite State.

Aim for cosy $10k GDPpc tourism hotspot with 2M people.

Getting subjugated by Islamists cynically cosplaying libs for the moment isn't going to be an improvement from Assad for them.

Terminally dysfunctional state that was bailed out by Iranian militias, Hezbollah, and Russian air power eight years ago. Now Hezbollah was wrecked by Israel, and Russia has all its attention occupied by Ukraine.

The HTS success is surprising, but not that surprising in context.

Why was the HTS surprise assault on a city of 2 million people - that's well more than 10% of Syria's population - not noticed?

Well, it seems it kind of was. Perhaps two months ago. Relaying it up the "power vertical" that's unaccountable and doesn't care is another matter.

In contrast, it was 19% in MENA as a whole (obviously a pretty corrupt region).

And it seems to have become worse after the civil war began (2018 report).

And obviously neither Russia nor Iran probably had a salubrious influence...

Important thing about the Assad regime is that it presides over a very, very corrupt state.

In the first (and only) World Bank Enterprise Survey in 2009, 84% of Syrian firms reported needing to pay bribes to "get things done" with public officials.
