6. Chrono Trigger - I don't think it's the GOAT (See Final Fantasy VII), but it's wonderful. It's paced well and has great characters. The combat is fun if unspectacular, and it pioneered multiple endings in North American RPGs.

The game has gotten stale. In a world where it set the blueprint for what a first-person shooter multiplayer should be in 2006-ish, what advancement has it made since? It's still the same reliance on killstreak lust that doesn't have the same impact as it did previously.
