Worries About Vaccination Rates In Dogs As rabies seems to be spreading more in wildlife, veterinarians are especially worried about vaccine hesitancy spread among pet owners, a dangerous trend that could lead to more dogs and their owners to becoming infected. A 2023 study published in the journal VACCINE found 40% of Americans believe canine vaccines were unsafe and 37% believed that vaccines could lead to develop cognitive issues, such as autism.

The infographic implies that this is due to Alberta's #UCP government strong stance against vaccines and vaccine information over the past few years. The infographic shows that as of May 20, 2025, British Columbia has 10 cases of measles, Alberta has 486, Saskatchewan has 37 and Manitoba has 44. So Alberta has 40 times the number of cases that British Columbia has and 10 times the cases that Manitoba is dealing with.
