Kentucky Route Zero comes to mind; the Japanese localization that TV Edition launched with was atrocious enough to earn it a nomination for 2020’s Kusoge of the Year. After checking Steam reviews, it seems that they patched in a fan translation in 2023 that finally makes it playable.

I'd also add that it's a bit of a disservice to say it's *just* those four demographics, or that the demographics mean as much as the vibe of the specific magazine, but when kids' media in the west is cocomelon plus the occasional Disney movie, manga magazine demographics feel like a luxury.

As someone who has fighting game strategy and terminology on their Absolute Freak list, I can absolutely imagine how all of that could have gone down. Fighting games in particular have a reputation in English for obtuse tutorials, so that effort's plenty appreciated.
