I put on My Friend Irma (1949) tonight and a few minutes in I was like, "huh, this kinda reminds me of My Sister Eileen (1942)."

Under the heading "Lawsuit," it reads: In 1946, writer Arthur Kurlan had worked with CBS Radio in an attempt to bring the premise and characters of the popular play and film My Sister Eileen to radio. Soon after this effort failed, the very similar My Friend Irma was created. Kurlan took legal action, and ultimately received a settlement from CBS.

Spent some time in blender experimenting with procedurally creating film grain in the compositor. There's probably some really physically accurate stuff out there but this was a good learning experience. Also I'm not even sure the grain is gonna survive bsky's image compression

I was looking through an issue of Variety from 1950 and found this cute anthro version of the MGM lion @possessedopossum.bsky.social

While its still Gnoll-vember I figured sharing a... REALLY out there Variant of Gnolls that are in our DnD campaign, Sweet Gnolls. We only ran into them once in the Feywild but I thought they were fun enough to put em on a canvas~
