It is with a heavy heart that I type that my cockatiel Isis passed away tonight. He was 24.

The park staff set up a nature tent with a witchy theme. The pentagram decoration was made out of two invasive plant species, Asiatic bittersweet and Amur honeysuckle.

Codorus Trick or Treat was a blast this year. I was particularly impressed with one campground display that looked like a NASA space shuttle on the outside. Inside, they put effort and creativity into the decorations.

I’d never seen snakes at my state park before today. Some fellow volunteers and I found two garter snakes and a snake skin.

When Isis was a juvenile, he’d press his face to mine to signal that he wanted head rubs. Many years later, he still remembers.
