Rewiring Australia reckons the cheaper home batteries program has installed the equiv. of "one of the ten biggest gas power stations in the country."
Sick to see the power of distributed networks play out like this. Someone could write a book on this in the vein of the early internet stuff.

and uhhh... the main risk areas, and the level of risk that each will be exposed to in Australia in the coming decades, has lots of impacts in the "severe" risk category even by 2050. But don't worry, there'll still be 20 more years of LNG exports to look forward to!

I'm reading it. At first I was like "why on earth would the Govt sit on this report? It's such a measured and evidence-backed report! And then I got to this bit and uhhh yeah maybe the government of new coal and gas mines might want to bury this one.

I know that it's just another case of the corporate left hand not knowing what the right is up to, but the jarring disconnect between Microsoft's overall sustainability ambition and the way it literally embeds *oil and gas* service promotion into Azure is kind of breathtaking.

Yeah this piece on how the tech industry fooled itself in the same way that psychics and mentalists end up fooling themselves is really critical, I think, to understanding how and why. This illustration of the stages of LLM use is straight-up mentalism.
