My dad abhors any negative comments about immigrants. Asked him recently why he’s so strong on it: ‘Because we’re always happy to take the rich and clever ones. Which means it’s not about disliking immigrants. It’s about disliking the poor and vulnerable. And that’s a bad human instinct.’
This is so disgusting.

This is why we need to either cap political donations or only allow campaign funds to be drawn from a central source for ALL parties, so they each get the same
🔴 Nigel Farage’s Reform is more reliant on super-rich backers than any major party in modern British political history

75% of *all* Reform donations *ever* have come from just three rich men

Is this what democracy looks like?

Calls grow for donation caps as Democracy for Sale research reveals that three-quarters of Reform’s funding comes from a trio of wealthy donors

This is the level of obscenity we are getting to now
FIFA will award their first ever Peace Prize to Donald Trump.

Truly a stunning development from an award created solely because Donald Trump wants a peace prize...

When I was a kid when they played 42 games, Managers, Players & Pundits all used to say that you can't win a title if you lose much more than 4 games, City & Chelsea have already lost 4, only Arsenal, Villa, Palace and Sunderland have lost less than that, leaving them with a bigger buffer for losses

I wonder how they'd respond if entries were extended to other Middle Eastern countries, such as Palestine or Iran? For me Israel is not in Europe, so should not compete in Eurovision or the European Football Championships, but it does for political reasons only.

Ireland among countries boycotting Eurovision after Israel allowed to compete
There had been calls for Israel's exclusion over the war in Gaza, as well as unfair voting accusations.

Yet another quirky record for The Arsenal 😆
Arsenal now hold the record at 108 games. The last team to score three times in a game against the Gunners was Luton on 5th December 2023 - two years ago tomorrow.
If Arsenal concede fewer than three goals against Chelsea, they will equal the record of 107 straight games in all competitions without conceding three goals in a match set by an English club (Man Utd October 2016 to August 2018).

Lots of news coverage this morning about £28 billion investment approved to upgrade the UK's energy network.

BUT: The majority of the spending – £17.8 billion - announced today is to maintain Britain’s gas networks rather than build new transmission lines.

I have been saying this for years, energy is a constant, where we produce excess heat, use it to heat properties or to turn turbines and generate electricity. It's so simple and as usual, the Scandinavians are at the front of the queue, with their logic and common sense
Data centres are energy hungry but what if we could use their waste heat to heat our homes?

That's exactly what happens in places like Finland: Cities are tapping the vast amounts of waste heat generated by data centres, and feeding it into district-heating networks.

Such a shame to see Leo Trossard fall victim to our 1 in, 1 out policy last night, the one downside to an otherwise unbelievably wonderful night for the Arsenal!

Harry Kane completed 90 minutes for Bayern Munich without attempting a single shot for just the third time. They didn't win a penalty so no surprise!

Joe Hart on MOTD2 saying the 2nd goal shoulda been disallowed for offside based on the letter of the law...

Vicario got a soft hand to it, which is why I believe VAR correctly didn't over turn it, because he clearly saw the shot to get a hand to it so Trossard could not have obscured his view
