I have no consistent way to name characters. Either it just comes to me, or I have to search. I use all tools at my disposal to find the right one. Sometimes that means asking dear writer friends on their opinions, especially if they've read the character before.

Rosa's name has always been some variation on Rose and Marq's name has always been Marq. (yes, since the beginning/earliest iteration of this story)

Corey's name changed several versions (and a couple of decades) ago, but it was just that I didn't like the first name I had. I think I knew too many people with that name.

Cella's name had several versions and I ended up pulling from a baby name website just browsing until I found one that worked.
