Counterpoint: the name “England” is derived from a tribe called the Angles, who migrated from an area called Angeln in modern-day Germany. The modern inhabitants of Angeln have as much claim as you do to the demonym “English,” so if you want a slightly-more-accurate option, try “obnoxious dipshit.”

“The science of reading” is a fad in the sense that it is a vehicle for companies like Pearson to sell new textbooks and teacher training materials, and it will inevitably give way to another approach that requires new textbooks and training materials.
