Elon Musk and the Trump administration gleefully shutting down USAID “has already caused the deaths of six hundred thousand people, two-thirds of them children.”

People throw around terms like genocide quite freely online but it’s hard to find other words to describe this level of man-made death.

Which probably sounds like a strange comparison, but helping out at the preschool often feels like reliving Occupy.

Kids are the only thing keeping me from losing my mind, honestly.

You HAVE to put down the phone sometimes, you HAVE to put one foot in front of the other, you HAVE to make it through the day and hold it together.

The only experience I can really compare it to is sustained street protest.
I feel like it is very hard to function on a daily basis if you think too hard about how many things in the US are completely falling apart and/or actively being destroyed right now, which is one upside to being recently laid off

This is def horrifying, but to be clear: I am not sure why we’re surprised the Nazis are behaving like Nazis. Whose mind are we trying to change with the “he should feel bad for being a war criminal” gambit?

A reminder for those who are not aware: "remigration" is the process of deporting all non-white people from a country. It includes citizens and is, by definition, ethnic cleansing.

And to be clear: this is not fake. I just screenshot it myself.

This. I don’t have a lot in common with a 20 yr old West Virginian. But she was harmed by the regime as directly as my immigrant family is being, & I really, really hope people realize this. Violence is bad. The first violence done against her was putting her in DC.
Those poor National Guard kids, man. National Guard isn't something you join because you want to kick down doors, it's something you join because you want to go to college.

Let us also keep in mind that the USA was and remains a genocidal, settler-colonial state; that we are on stolen land; and that Indigenous people persist & thrive.

This Thanksgiving—observe the National Day of Mourning.

From 1819 to 1969, US Govt stole tens of thousands of Indigenous kids—forcing them to convert to Christianity & stripping them of their identities. Resistance was met with violence. Sexual abuse was rampant.

ICE deported a woman who owned a home in the US for 30 years. A judge banned ICE from deporting her to Sierra Leone where she had been tortured, so it deported her to Ghana, which kidnapped her and sent her back Sierra Leone anyway. ICE is part of this illegal conspiracy.
