These airplane fragments are a part of the fuselage of the reconnaissance
aircraft called "Lockheed" U-2 of the U.S. Army [sic].
The plane, piloted by Powers, was shot down over the USSR territory in the region of Sverdiovsk on May 1, 1961.
The fragments were given in exchange for samples of U.S. police uniforms.
