always wonder how much of this is a bunch of uninformed voters who only vote in Gen elections, fill all the circles with “(R)” next to them (because “republicans = good with taxes” or whatever), and then turn in the ballot without bothering w the initiatives because the hell with all that reading.

Grew up in the Midwest. Almost anytime I’m ubering to the airports there, and I tell the driver I’m headed back to Seattle, I get a stern lecture from the driver about how my home is a scary shithole they would never live in. Am I crazy or 10 years ago this would be considered really fucking rude?
