I was invited to tour the fab where Intel's making chips using its new 18A process. We weren't allowed to bring any electronics in or film, but I sat down with @adampatrickmurray.bsky.social and @markhachman.bsky.social to brain dump on everything we saw the moment we got back to the hotel.

Ever want to work inside a Biebian, HannaMontanaOS, or RebeccaBlackOS operating system? Well now you can!
This week has been busy, so here's a thread of stuff I want to share that I've been working on: First off, this week's episode of Dual Boot Diaries gets into some stupid cross Windows/Linux talking I've done to save disk space for Steam and also tiling window managers, which I think I love:

New from @tinanguyen.bsky.social and me: Charlie Kirk's shooter left behind bullet casings with a furry sex meme and a bunch of Helldivers video game references. Subreddits for Helldivers immediately picked up on it.

I already feel like a different person than I was when we started and it's only been 2 episodes 😅
The second episode went up this morning, where we talk about desktop environments and my battle with the company printer:

Interesting tech for sure, I would love to know more about what it's doing, but that games list is a head scratcher. When it launched APO was marketed as a huge deal, but what has come to fruition so far just isn't. Can they move quicker and add more highly utilized titles?
September 6, 2025 at 12:21 PM
When I first read the headline I assumed it was some marketing tactic, but if switching memory can reduce overall power draw and fan speeds on a GPU without sacrificing performance that's interesting. It's not a huge difference, but if the testing was conducted fairly it's noticeable.

Sean is 100% right, this is historic.
Even if you know what MXM is, this is historic. It's never been this easy, and to make it this easy in the thin and light and soldered- or packaged-memory era... plus Dell utterly whiffed on this idea just a few years ago!

The world needs more podcasts, so Will and I are here to help.
I've started a new podcast! I'm doing a limited-run series with @adampatrickmurray.bsky.social about switching from Windows to Linux called Dual Boot Diaries. You can find it on Apple Music, Spotify, Pocketcasts, and anywhere podcasts are found, but also on YouTube as a video...

The first 8BitDo (dew not doh) controllers were some of my first reviews ever I ever filmed. Been fun to see the company adapt over the course of my career.
I reviewed the brand spankin' new 8BitDo Pro 3 controller, with upgraded sticks, swappable face buttons, and a charging dock. It is a great fit for retro gaming on Windows, SteamOS, and Switch 1/2, or if you just prefer the PlayStation d-pad/stick layout. youtu.be/oqycWSEper0
