We watched Canadian Bacon this weekend and the 15yo thinks it's the greatest movie ever made.

We watched Canadian Bacon this weekend and the 15yo thinks it's the greatest movie ever made.
Groceries are up. Civil servants are without pay. SNAP is uncertain. But at least my gas prices have gone down* while he boasts about an all-marble bathroom, the Kennedy Center carpet, and the ballroom being built in place of the entire East Wing of the White House.

Slow-moving #Melissa was quite effective at extracting energy from the warm water below it. This 10-day loop of ocean heat content tells the story, and more decreases will show up closer to Jamaica and Cuba in the coming days.

Hurricanes feed off of warm water. Watch how quickly the eye of #Melissa collapsed as it moved onto land and over the mountainous terrain of Jamaica, and how quickly it is reforming now that it has moved back over water! I will be adding this radar loop to my earth science lectures.
