Upscaling footage is AI by any definition which is why AI isn't a useful term. Machine learning has been used for this kind of thing with this sort of result for a long time now.

It makes perfect sense that Trump, a guy who just wants to be liked and popular, likes a popular guy who is charming and nice to him.

I’d argue that’s a real distinction that might only matter in legal or academic cases, certainly not on cable tv where using the term means most people don’t know what you’re saying at all.
