Personally, I always viewed Edelgard aligning with TWSITD to be rather interesting and made sense.

They pretty much ruled the Empire for a good while.
As well, I view it as a victim taking agency within the confines of which she was raised under.

But that plot near the end was kinda cheeks. Especially since they were DRAGGING THEIR FEET WITH THE STORY.

The villain was so mentally unstable that they couldn't handle their own really really bad plan.
