I’m sorry, that sounds awful. I love that alt text means no typing (at least for an image like this). I’m reposting with alt text.

@riotgrlerin.bsky.social if I had your skills I’d be doing a thread on Julia Roberts as social research maps….

That’s exactly it - I read Ned Blackhawk’s The Rediscovery of America in December, and being reminded of how vile so much or our past has been was…bracing. We’ve faced this before, and we’ve advanced. It’s not impossible.

From the desk of no longer Hydra 5 (Precious), but Dolly (‼️😍‼️☺️)

A nice retired lady has fallen in love with me, and I am going home with her next week! I am now named after the great Dolly Parton, I am putting on weight, and I am finally able to relax. Adopt my friends at www.BARCS.org

They ALWAYS grab more than they can hold. ALWAYS. It’s why their worldview is so unsustainable: their greed gobbles itself up. They’re like the goblin with the pickle jar in - pardon the provocatively non-Aryan-heartland reference - Herschel and the Hanukkah Goblins. IYKYK.

Today I am Estée Lauder, reflecting on a certain orange someone’s foundation application. Usually you want to blend — unless you’re me, because my jaw line is perfect!

Aw. Me too with this girl’s old family (and the other *6* dogs she was seized with). She was obviously loved, along with being neglected to the point of starvation. She’s affectionate, calm, accepting…

I’d like naming privileges to transfer from the hip BARCS kids to the grandparent volunteers!

Today I am feeling all Alabama Shakes. You can call me Ms Howard. Boy howdy, does it turn out I have a bark on me!

Hi, @mcfaulmike.bsky.social - please use alt text for photos and memes so people with vision issues can access the text and images in them. Thanks. Bluesky does a great job with its tech that lets you copy and paste the text off the image - you don’t have to type it all out.

Today I am Emily Dickinson. Did you know? Hope is the thing with feathers.

I think Soby was adopted while I was at BARCS picking up my new foster pup! Her pound name is Hydra 5 (obviously we’re working on something new) and she is a gentle sweetheart in spite of starvation and neglect. Think basset+pitty+beagle. ❤️ I am in awe of her grace.

“Terrifying” times in Baltimore - new foster dog home! Very sweet girl but troubled by that president’s threat to derail commerce for the entire eastern seaboard.

No kidding! So was Dr Seuss. And my friend Mark Pett, now beloved author of I Eat Poop: A Dung Beetle Story.

National book club: Read The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck. Hear me: I’ve spent my life avoiding this book. Now I’m listening to it, narrated by the prodigious #DylanBaker, and every word - EVERY GD WORD - speaks to today. It is funny and heartbreaking and just so so great I can’t even say.
