This whole article is a bit of a disaster. And it's very difficult to find other published work for the author. Strange! 🧪

Evidence of Farage’s unabashed youthful racism has been in the public domain since at least 2013, yet somehow he has been allowed to remain part of the British political conversation. The fact he wasn’t driven back under a rock years ago has emboldened racists across the country to spread hatred.

BREAKING: This is huge news, the EU's equivalent of the 🇺🇸Supreme Court's 2015 Obergefell v. Hodges ruling.

🇪🇺Court of Justice just ruled all 🇪🇺countries must recognise same-sex marriages granted in other member states.

This effectively legalises gay marriage across 🇪🇺

I would love to ask the EU, but I don’t think they will take us back so long as we have crooked, morally-bereft party leaders who will march us back into the wilderness the moment they become PM.
britain i swear to fuck just ask the EU to take you back, sure we'll be insufferably smug about it and probably force you to get off the pound because we're feeling like being bastards but at least youll have, like, jobs and any kind of perspective

Just had a doctor interrogate the autism diagnosis on my records due to the ‘high levels of emotional empathy’ observed during our consultation. He then suggested that being a writer and autistic was, in his mind, highly unlikely.

Sorry, lads…but am I in the wrong century?

What a goddamn legend. Every big tough conservative masculinity guy has been crying about how terrifying cities are to live in for the past two years and now Trump wants to move back to NYC
Reporter to Trump: Would you feel comfortable living in NYC under a Mamdani mayoralty?

Trump: "I would. I really would. Especially after the meeting, absolutely."

I don't mean this in an "I told you so" way, but it was very obvious to me that the Mamdani/Trump meeting would go the way it did, because Mamdani is ascendant, popular, powerful and charismatic, all things that Trump wants to glom on to. Trump has no principles; it's not like he has converted.

And when you add the people born in Britain whose parents were not, the numbers just show how absurd the ‘debate’ is.
One in six people living in the UK were born abroad. Quite a few more are their family members. A lot more are their friends and colleagues. Some people don't like this. Instead of telling them to get stuffed, as we should, we've built the whole political consensus around pleasing them.

Mahmood really is a disingenuous nasty piece of work. Look, people don't risk their child's life crossing the channel to boost their own claim. Mahmood's own policies of restricting family reunion does mean more children will be making channel crossings though.

Fundamentally, it's a policy of excluding trans people from public life. That's it.
I mean come on: we'll ask but reserve right to exclude you on the basis of how you look. Oh, and if you try to use your birth sex specific facilities we'll kick you out of those as well.

Get fucked.

Just seen someone argue Labour's rabidly hostile anti-asylum policies are actually a deflection so they can bring in more safe routes. I give up. That's not how this works. Pretty much any new routes announced will be massively restricted and exclusionary, and don't offset the harm being done. 1/

The debate over whether this is 'fascism' is a silly semantic one in which a small minority mean 'completed fascist authoritarianism' and the vast majority mean 'the people in power say and do things that demonstrate completed fascist authoritarianism is what they want to achieve.'

Sam is probably right, but also, it does just scream that the government has no underlying theory of what they want the asylum system to be and do.
My guess is they will end up u-turning on the jewellery thing (you can already see it being softening in interviews) and possibly the 20 years (which is way longer than Denmark).
