Oh look, yet another disaster for ordinary people caused by Tory governments abandoning social responsibility in pursuit of cost-cutting for lower taxes, which has unfolded exactly as experts predicted at the time, and clearing up the mess will now cost public money desperately needed elsewhere.

Radcliffe and Maconie on BBC 6 music is one of my favourite things

Having it interrupted by breathless news bulletin telling me ‘government has banned taxis for asylum seekers’ *really isn’t*

New lines like ‘Home Office spent £1k over weekend on taxis’ would struggle to make a local newspaper

It's the same on Radio 3, which is my station of choice. BBC News is now the Daily Mail of the airwaves.

I'm just glad people are starting to understand how bad the BBC is

The problem isn't the right-wing press that reaches a few million people max across all channels

The problem is the BBC who push the same, but sanitised and legitimised, bigoted nonsense to 40 million people.

And we all pay for it

Paul, in his Aston Martin gilet, 10 years from retirement, living in one of the most expensive houses in one of the best places in Britain, with savings and investments worth £2-4mil (excluding anything he has in tax-free ISAs), who has earned enough in his lifetime to pay “millions in taxes”…

The country wants a wealth tax on assets.

They're panicking because "won't the rich just leave" has been utterly debunked.

They've got no actual argument.

Look, this French publication correctly labels Farage as the leader of a far right party (even if it’s technically a limited company).

Why does the British mainstream media seem to have a different definition?
He is simply called ‘the leader of Reform UK’, which makes him sound innocuous.

The head of the Reform UK party faces mounting pressure after a colleague was sentenced to prison for accepting money from Ukrainian politicians acting on behalf of Moscow.

These men will now be paid actual money for their analysis of today’s budget.

Labour’s Refusal to talk about Brexit and look at rejoining the CU and SM is repelling their historic supporters. They are on the road to total ahnialation at the next G.E. Let alone next May’s locals.
Earlier in the week I visited the Chancellor for a pre-briefing in No 11, on measures I have been lobbying for as part of today's Budget. Taken together, and as the distributional analysis shows, this is a Budget that is rooted in fairness - see more thoughts here:

The damage from Brexit is always seen in economic terms. But the non monetary harm it brought to many is never reported on and in my view is even more devastating.

There is nothing redeeming about Brexit.

A MAN WITH 411 SEATS IS FIXATED BY A MAN WITH 5. IT DOESN’T GET MUCH DAFTER THAN THAT!

Farage’s Achilles heel is Brexit. Starmer could be wiping the floor with Farage, but he’s not because he decided to back Johnson’s hard Brexit.

Farage set the immigration bait and Starmer took it, totally overlooking the fact that the cause of the huge immigration spike was Farage’s Brexit.

To Reform, Starmer is the gift that keeps on giving. A prime minister with less political nous and basic common sense would be hard to imagine.

I think it’s worse than ignore. Labour tell us Brexit is awful don’t fix it then use it as an excuse for cuts and tax rises. It’s a government for the super rich not us.

Given that the BBC endlessly gives platforms to lobbyists from the dark money junktanks without revealing their interests, shouldn't we be seeing such apologies every day?

Better still, how about not doing it? If they want to appear, we should know on whose behalf they are speaking.
