Through these acts of refusal, Thoreau demonstrated that 𝙧𝙚𝙛𝙪𝙨𝙖𝙡 𝙞𝙨 𝙖 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢 𝙤𝙛 𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣. His refusal was not just resistance; it was a moral imperative.

It’s not just saying “no,” but taking purposeful action to live a life aligned with ethical principles, even against society’s expectations.

His essay Civil Disobedience directly called for refusal to comply with immoral laws. He argued that 𝙥𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙢𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙖𝙘𝙩 𝙖𝙘𝙘𝙤𝙧𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚, 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙞𝙛 𝙞𝙩 𝙢𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙨 𝙗𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙖𝙬. He didn’t just write about refusal; he lived it.

This philosophy advocates non-violent refusal, taking a stand peacefully against injustice. Beyond his tax protest, Thoreau was an active abolitionist, speaking out against slavery in his essay Slavery in Massachusetts & helped slaves escape via the Underground Railroad.

His experiment at Walden Pond was another act of refusal. Thoreau rejected society’s materialism & consumption by choosing to live simply in nature for two years. He saw society’s obsession with wealth as a distraction from a more meaningful, deliberate life.

Thoreau’s most famous act of refusal was his civil disobedience. In 1846, he was jailed for refusing to pay a poll tax, protesting the government’s support for slavery and the Mexican-American War. His refusal to fund these injustices became a cornerstone of his philosophy.

The "admin" is claiming that no one person will head up DOGE going forward. This could be a legal tactic so it's hard to pin one individual down in a lawsuit &/or just part of the chaos. It seems Russ Vought (Heritage Foundation) may be the new Steve Davis. Thiel said he's putting a guy in as well.

Missing a few steps, but close enough to what happened... Thiel was in DOGE from the get. He helped staff it with employees from his corp & pulled kids from his DoD contracts. Per a DOGE whistleblower, the day-to-day is run by Steve Davis, Anthony Armstrong & Baris Akis. Akis is not a US citizen.

If a person cannot analyze a problem, clearly define it, and present reasoned solutions to fix said problem, they are not a centrist.

And to be clear, sometimes reasoned change is "radical" change.
