I’m a no go on horror but give me a dark and gritty British crime series and that’s my comfort show—Wallander, Unforgotten, Shetland, The Fall…..

Captions help me focus on what I’m watching. It’s strange to go to movies and not have them because I have them on all the time at home.

Me, too. Don’t put me in charge of anything living unless it will meow or bark at me to get fed. Out of sight out of mind with plants.

The only way it would work for me.

Good. I kill plants.

Me too!

Same. The busier I am the better I am. I need the structure. It feeds into the rest. I think that’s why education is such a good fit. High intensity for periods of time and then long breaks.

I am so sorry. What a horrible thing to go through. Wishing you healing in the coming day/weeks/months.

Right? It’s like a magic trick. I always get “how or why do you know that?”

I thought I was just really good at creating systems but it turns out I NEED to create systems so the work place works for MY executive dysfunction. Was totally self-serving all along.

I know that b/c I played basketball and said there was no way I was gonna be a slug. I won Trivial Pursuit b/c I knew that Neve Campbell used Propecia b/c she had Alopecia from reading an article in People magazine at one point.

Read somewhere last year that ADHD people are great at organization work spaces b/c we need to function for us. So we go into new places looking for ways to reorganize and get hyper efficient b/c it’s the only way we can work! So enlightening for me. My own house. No. Other people’s spaces? Let’s go

I’m horrible with license plates but I’m great at word association. So I don’t even follow sports but can probably name 90% of team names if I have the city or vice versa. It’s great for trivia and crossword puzzles. If I’ve encountered the information at some point, I usually retain it.

I know people who are on blood thinners who take ADHD meds. So hopefully you can find a doctor that has treated both and can give you some relief.

Yep. Plus I retain so much random stuff it overwhelms me. When I worked admitting in a hospital, I had to enter patient information and I would retain SSNs or phone numbers I entered once—not all of them but random ones. It’s also why I could remember what each student wrote about in their essays.

Exactly. ADHD meds were a lifesaver for me.

People don’t get how exhausting it can be. That’s my problem. My brain gets overwhelmed and then I’m just beat. I can’t process any new information!

Just had this discussion yesterday. Said I’m so glad they’ve decided to give the whole week because ALL of those parents happily take their kids out of school for the week ANYWAY when they have plans. We end up with hardly any students. No instructions. Waste of time.

Me, too! I do this so often. I NEED ANSWERS!! Waiting for answers stresses me out. Sometimes I can enjoy the movie or show better if I know the end.
