I don't know what I'm going to post here but let's be real, it's going to be Formula 1, tabletop gaming and generic nerdery with a side of tired leftism.
What ttrpgs am I craving?

I miss a good Vampire campaign.
I'd love to give DIE a go.
Also curious about Daggerheart, mechanically.
Monsterhearts would hit good.
Changeling, specifically as run by @rustedwirewitch.bsky.social (for many of the same reasons as Monsterhearts)
What ttrpgs am i craving?

Got a few I am wanting to GM or play next

Interstitial Our hearts Connected
meta fiction
mutants in the Now
Fellowship
What ttrpgs am i craving?

Pretty much the usual ones.

- Paranoia
- Warhammer The Old World RPG
- Hunter: The Reckoning
- Pendragon
- DIE
- Numenera
- Monsterhearts 2

And be glad Milk has stopped at two syllables. It keeps veering dangerously close to three.

I'd say obviously the number of syllables represent the importance of the concept being described but that is somewhat contradicted by the fact that banana is 'na'.
Daughter’s current approach to language is best described as “why use whole word when part of word do trick”, she’ll learn a multi syllable word then figure out how small she can make it while still being understood, with the exception of milk which is two syllables now because ?????

Apparently the penalty for blocking the streets with tractors was “being asked to leave”. And here was me expecting farmers to be declared a terrorist organisation and imprisoned for protest.

Guess it’s not just tax laws that are disproportionately in their favour, huh?

Shout out to apc for making their consumer ups devices user serviceable. Taking a battery to the recycling center beats turning the whole device into ewaste!

And none of which is to say Mattel will be sane and rational, I just can't see them pursuing imprisonment. C&D under threat of inflated financial penalty? Yeah, absolutely. But I don't think we're quite as badly off as a society yet that a Morrowind mod will land someone in jail.

I misread this image so badly that I can only really hope to illustrate what I saw.

( Also a good excuse for an #art study )

This is what I’ve always said. Most egregious might be Jyn herself suddenly becoming a charismatic resistance leader exactly when the plot demands it of her and with no justification.
rogue one is bad folks. i have believed this since i saw it in theaters and no subsequent rewatch has changed my mind. basically a chop job until the final sequence, which is good (for star wars)

Further developments:
Carrot = “cart”
Bread = “bit” (think she’s trying to say pita because we have those sometimes)
Peanut butter = “butt”
Current toddler vocabulary cheat sheet:
“Appy” means apple
“Coff” means coffee (mine not hers)
“Muff” means muffin
“Nees” means both knees and sneeze
“Fuck” means frog

I have felt for quite a while that at least a part of anti-migrant, anti-refugee behaviour from successive governments is pulling the drawbridge up ahead of an increase in climate-caused refugee movement.

And you know what? It's not gonna save us, lads
On one of the dirty hippy US politics podcasts in 2017, after the torchlit Nazi rally where one of the marchers killed a woman.

Imagine how it feels after my MP, @zubirahmed.bsky.social tells me how proud he is to be a Labour MP as the only party that will protect the most vulnerable to wake up and find his party is not only confiscating jewellery in a move comparable to the nazi regime but now seeking to end trial by jury.

The lads from Cadia put up a decent struggle. I was ahead on points until the last turn but thanks to the way the missions and secondaries landed my opponent ended up scoring more points in the last turn than I had the entire game.

Them's the breaks. :D

Kid: Milk
@strandedselkie.bsky.social: Do you want milk?
Kid: Yes
@strandedselkie.bsky.social: Shall we get you some milk?
Kid: No

I’ll give her this, she keeps us on our toes.

A nice thing about having a proper shape sorter toy (not everything goes in the square hole) is that I can sometimes short circuit an impending tantrum by just playing with the sorter in front of the kiddo and doing it deliberately wrong. She can't resist coming and showing Daddy how to do it right.

This is bullshit.

"absolutely no genAI in games" is the middle ground.

"how many years in jail should Sam Altman get for knowingly stealing all data ever" is the somewhat more extreme stance I personally adopt.
"Surely there's a middle ground here?" The CEO of Helldivers 2 studio Arrowhead says people "jump to extreme takes" when debating generative AI, and that there needs to be more nuance in the discussion.

Just spent an absolutely lovely morning just going around Ikea. Amazing how joyful even a mundane thing can become when you're doing it with a toddler who has never done it before (as far as she can remember).

Games I am currently playing:

Ace Attorney: Justice for All
Pokemon Platinum Edition
Persona 3 FES
Final Fantasy VII

All of which I'm playing for the first time.

Yeah... I'm doing ok while I ride out the AI bubble.
"what games will you play when everything uses AI?"

So there's this cool thing called playing older games, did you know we have hundreds of thousands of them?
Enough to keep someone busy for multiple lifetimes?
I'm not gonna run out anytime soon

Still hoping the AI bubble bursts though of course

The Pop! maker warns of potential loan defaults without fresh funding or a buyout, after a 14% sales drop and $250M in obligations.

A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

When I said Elon couldn’t possibly come across as any more divorced if he tried I never actually thought he’d hear me. Certainly didn’t expect him to treat it as a challenge. But he sure showed me!
Elon has never experienced this and neither have his biggest fans but now they can create these visuals with the help of a computermachine
