Regardless of what any government minister says, if you're struggling with mental illness, have a suspicion that you have ADHD, autism, both, try not to be disheartened. It's a worthwhile process and as someone coming out the other side the only thing I wish is that I'd done it sooner.

Labour's mental health inquiry in a nutshell: "Weird... Someone has replaced half the water in my fish tank with piss. Also the fish are getting sick. We must stop the phantom fish tank pisser and also launch an inquiry into the vet about the unrelated poorly fish issue."

Movie you've watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Stars (either War or Trek), LOTR, or Marvel.

Back in January I'd never have thought I'd be saying this come December but the best movie I've seen in 2025 BY FAR is K-Pop Demon Hunters.

A few predictable story beats (to me, at 40, with ADHD) but very well done.

Best animation since Across The Spider-Verse.

Incredible soundtrack.

Fun writing research thing - being arachnophobic and looking for info on the gnarliest and most dangerous spiders the gods ever shovelled guts into.

This will not help my phobia. Nor my desire to visit Australia one day.

Seriously guys what the fuck? What's next? Gun hamsters? Knife pigeons? JFC.

I'd missed the writing community but not the p*rn bots. I remember when I was at a low point and kept getting those, usually accounts made to look like real people. Silly really but some algorithm deciding you look a bit sad and like a potential John isn't nice when you're down.

Second morning thought - cars run on tyres. Tyres are almost all pneumatic. Ergo, driving a car is cold air ballooning.

Astronomy motivation for those who missed it - every moon is a super moon if you like moons enough.

As I near forty-one years of age I don't feel a midlife crisis approaching. What I do feel, which is probably something to do with ADHD meds as well, is the desire to take a year's sabbatical and let out an absolute primal scream of all the things I've wanted to do.

Hmm...

Little bit of FOMO today as Spotify's Wrapped comes out but that said I cancelled my sub when I found out they were advertising for ICE recruitment.

I'm not listening to punk on a platform that runs ads for the Temu gestapo. Fuck ICE. Fuck Trump. Fuck Spotify.

Hmm... I don't think this is working, is it?

Whamageddon is just a Big Radio false-flag operation to detract us from Llamageddon, the day when the world will be destroyed by the Welsh.

And this morning we sit frozen in Tesco carpark because we have far too much to do with no time or budget to speak of, and achieving the improbable is not helped by four hours of poor sleep.

Did manage to save a few quid on advent calendars tho...

By Batman's Bat-Hammer... What a Bat-savings.

Wanted to say a thank you to my followers and connections for the warm welcome back.

I feel I have a few explanations and apologies to distribute in person when possible, also DMs are open if my erratic behaviour and bridge-burning have led anyone to want to bring anything to my attention.

:)

I've now seen the end of Guillermo Del Toro's Frankenstein and it all but moved me to tears. As someone who lives with trauma and also a great deal of regret, this was an adaptation that affected me deeply. Utterly beautiful, and a triumph for everyone involved. I'd doff my hat if I was wearing one.

Question for me writing folks - decent guides to script format writing. I've asked before and have completely forgotten so any direction to a book, a guide, an affordable course, would be very welcome.

Away for a few nights and actually managed to get in a little writing time. Just enough to hammer through a thousand words and put some clear space between me and a blank page first page.

Momentum is such an important thing and being interruption-free to build some was just what I needed.
