I work captioning phone calls for the deaf and hear a lot of upsetting content because of the nature of the job. My boss would become a wet, dripping megaphone made of flesh and bone that's endlessly shouting terrible things so loud that your ears ring.
A fun one at last. Hang around for the outro: those who have answered the questions can self promo. Yes, we do check, so don't pretend or just throw links on. We can see you. We will remove the quote.
Anyway. Go on then. What does your boss become?

To me, workplace horror is any job where you're disposable and expected to be an anonymous punching bag, whether that's because the work itself is so grueling or because you're being screamed at by customers just to make ends meet.

It varies! In my book American Garbage the characters join a reality show from all walks of life, but most are in poverty and stuck in the endless grind of working in food, retail, and customer service. Typically their jobs are sources of pain and obstacles to overcome.
Do you go with the whole, write what you know? Do you make it up as you go along?
Do your characters tell you their job? Does it come up? Is it even relevant to the story?

Well hello hello and welcome to another Wednesday! I welcome you, horror writers, and all things dark.
I wanted to talk about what we sell our souls for today. When we don't write. Or maybe you earn your living writing. Tell me all!
Side hustles, raising hellions, it all counts.
