Interesting site.
Lots of these little fellas coming out, plus lots of "interesting" pottery.
The first geophys results are extremely interesting, and it will need to be extended. A lot.

It's Tuesday. You're dragging yourself through the world, one cup of coffee at a time. Can nothing liven up this day?

How 'bout a thread of eel ships on maps? These maps are what got me into eels in the first place!

"Cool!" you say. "But wait...what's an eel ship?"

Well...

River Mersey on a bright sunny day at high tide.
The surface was like a mill pond. Flat and vivid blue.

Wow, a rare example of a Neolithic axe with its original ash wood handle still preserved!

Resembling a modern felling axe, it was probably used to clear forest some 5,200 years ago. From Borum, eastern Jutland, Denmark. Moesgaard Museum. 📷 by me

What issue is considered by British people to be on a par with the importance of housing, immigration and crime, but is sometimes treated as a minor issue by politicians?

An interesting year on site. Last week we closed one of our professionally supervised excavations.
During Winter there's still lots to do, preparing and recording finds, carrying out desk and internet based research. This research has already produced interesting stuff...
