5 albums in total. 96 images per album. Going to take a while to work through them all.
After a request from my “American mom”, I spent an entire afternoon making stupid art for no other reason than to make at least one person happy. #trolls #trollsofdartmoor #dartmoor #dartmoortrolls #trollsintherain #trollseatingraspberryrippleicecream #photography #creativeediting #alittlebitoffun
Earlier this year I was brought the original image to repair, along with the frame and glass. The client wished to retain what would have been the original Monochrome.
The colour version is purely for my own entertainment & practice

Heard back from the Cartoon Museum. Nothing in their records. Worth a punt. Thanks for the tip.
I don’t understand what you mean?
I've sent them an email with the images and information. Fingers crossed they can help. Many thanks for the pointer.
Thank you. It’s very close to the signature for Donald McGill (the McG bit anyway), but the first part of the signature doesn’t seem to match with anything.
It’s absolutely fine, half the fun in uncovering history is the search for the truth. It’s a bit like repairing or restoring images, there’s nothing quite like finding out the stories.
It’s possible that it was another serviceman who was just really good at drawing (the date and signature make me think perhaps not) But it would be nice to find out something definitive for them and their family.
I shall try them, see if they have any input. Many thanks.
Was just looking at his work. Not to worry. Always nice to discover different artists.
Many thanks, I shall investigate further.
I shall investigate further. Thanks.
I can’t find anything that says either way. All I know is my clients father kept it in a tube until he decided to glue it to a board and then hang it in his shed which led to its rather rapid decline.
There’s a few that look similar from Punch magazine but none of the signatures seem to match up. It’s a bit “needle in haystack” but it’s a very interesting piece with a lot of its history missing. If it comes to you, please let me know. Many thanks.
