Jeff Balk’s resignation is a necessary step forward, but it’s disappointing that it took public scandal for accountability. His statement doesn’t fully reckon with the harm or what real accountability requires of us. We must center survivors and do what’s right proactively, not reactively. #NetDe

Accountability applies to everyone.

@sussexdems.bsky.social shielding him instead of centering survivors is unacceptable.

I am disgusted that some would put personal or political interests above what is right.

Jeff Balk must resign. Our values are not performative, we must live them. #NetDE
Sussex County Democrats and state party leadership are in a standoff over whether the chair of the county party, Jeff Balk, should resign because of his criminal past of sex crimes against minors. Read the full story: https://ow.ly/IE1z50XhJCo

I don't know that I ever thought I'd see a cis politician say Sylvia and Marsha's names, let alone one advocate for continuting the work they were part of. Thank you, Zohran, maybe a world that doesn't want us dead is possible?
UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.

The "liberals have to learn how to live with people we diagree with" line kinda stops making sense in a world where the central disagreement is whether disagreeing with them should be allowed at all

1. It's shutdown day, and anti-trans provisions are on the line... either today, or in a few more weeks if a clean continuing resolution passes.

Trump posted a video this morning blaming a shutdown on trans people and immigrants.

Here is your shutdown guide.

AG Nessel and the Michigan govt have yet to force state hospitals capitulating to Trump to return to providing trans youth care.

I feel like this message is empty, and will only serve as right wing rage bait while delivering nothing.

There has been a rush among centrists like Gavin Newsom and Ezra Klein to brush over the hateful life of Charlie Kirk and valorize the man.

Let me be clear, killing Charlie Kirk was wrong and abhorrent.

We must condemn murder without sanitizing a man who built his empire on hate.

My latest piece.
We Must Not Posthumously Sanitize Charlie Kirk's Hateful Life
Influential anti-LGBTQ+ activist Charlie Kirk was assassinated on Wednesday. While condemning violence is something most can get behind, sanitization of his hate has gone too far.
